I just read the blog for Colorado Matters. Ususally, I like the off-hand comments made in this blog, but today I was surprised by the lack of regard shown former mayor W Mitchell. Mitchell was mayor of Crested Butte and ran for Congress in 1984. Cocktail parties at Mitchell's house were among the best I have ever attended - interesting people; interesting conversation; and always uncommonly well-hosted. While Mitchell had a great many supporters in town, he also had his detractors. Too bad all those wonderful minds did not join forces - they could have really done some incredible things.

I lamented over concerns I had for the direction the County might take under a majority consisting of John Ranson and Bob Moomaw. After the election, and as a result of the ambush and assault on the County’s planning commission, I wrote another article lamenting concerns that Archuleta County continued to disregard good process, policies and predictability. Since then, I have pelted Bill Hudson and Glenn Walsh with information, but refrained and even refused to write anything myself.
